Compare the preparation separately from the finish.
Russian manicure describes a preparation approach; regular polish, gel polish, and structured gel describe different finishes. A photograph alone will not tell you which service was used. Decide whether you want tidy natural nails, color, added support, or extra length before comparing appointment names.
What changes during preparation
A conventional manicure may include a soak and hand-tool preparation. A Russian manicure is usually performed without soaking and can involve an electric file. The label does not guarantee a particular result or make aggressive cuticle removal appropriate. Ask what preparation is included and tell the technician how much cuticle work you are comfortable with.
Choose a finish that matches your plans
No-polish care is an option when you want shaping without a gel coating. Regular polish is a color finish rather than a structural overlay. Hard gel adds a separate product structure. If your reference photo has extra length, ask about extensions rather than assuming any manicure can create that shape on your existing nails.
Compare the complete appointment
At RM, the natural manicure and hard-gel manicure are separate menu choices with different appointment lengths. Check the current menu and Booksy availability, and mention existing product, removal, repair, or nail art. Comparing only the headline price can miss extras needed to achieve your reference.
A closer polish edge is not the only priority
The American Academy of Dermatology advises against cutting or forcefully pushing back cuticles. A careful consultation should respect that protective skin, not promise the deepest possible removal. Say immediately if a service hurts; a premium result should not depend on tolerating pain.
Before visiting Midtown
Bring a reference photo and know the name of your existing product if possible. Decide whether maintaining your current length matters more than copying a particular image. All RM appointments take place at 875 3rd Ave, Concourse Level; choose the service on Booksy before planning your travel.
